Welcome to Diana and Emily's first blog. We are both students at the Center of Urban Education, and we are currently taking a Intro to Literature class. Throughout this course Dr. Robinson uses techniques in which help us connect to literature in unique ways. For example, as students we participate in literature circles, novel studies, poetry, and in this project, a "meet the author" blog. These assignments are unique to us as students because it involves active thinking and helps us connect with literature. Unlike other standard college courses, Dr. Robinson makes a conscious effort in developing this course. She wants it to be about her students and our connection to literature. Exploring different genres has helped us to find deeper meanings and understanding literature.
For this particular assignment we have chosen Barbara Kingsolver as our, "meet the author." Barbara Kingsolver is an American novelist, essayist, and poet. It is through this assignment of creating a blog that we have learned who Barbara Kigsolver is, her notable works, and about her writing.
